Bridgwater Weather
Bridgwater Weather was a slightly different kind of project, and honestly a really enjoyable one.
This was the very first website for a local weather enthusiast who wanted to share real, live weather data with anyone curious enough to check in. Less business driven, more passion project, but still something that needed to work properly and look the part.
The Goal
Build a fast, reliable weather website that could display a huge amount of weather data, updated automatically, and presented clearly for anyone visiting the site.
The key requirement was integration, the website needed to pull and display readings directly from an Oregon Scientific WMR-300 weather station via MeteoBridge.
The Solution
Rather than using a CMS, we built this as a custom PHP website so it could stay lightweight, quick to load, and tailored around the data.
The weather station data was routed through MeteoBridge, which acted as the link between the physical hardware and the website. From there, the site was structured to ingest, process, and display a wide range of weather readings and trends, including live conditions and historical data views.
Because it was custom built, we could shape the layout and data presentation around what weather enthusiasts actually care about, without fighting templates or plugins.
