How do I upload a large file via FTP?

The maximum FTP upload/download size is 5 GB, above which you’ll need to use another method to transfer larger file sizes.

The 5 GB limit is enough for most use cases and it is not very likely that larger uploads are needed by most users. 5 GB is equivalent to 17.5 hours of 720p HD video.

If you need to upload a file that extends the FTP limit you can use tools like Rsync or WinSCP.

We recommend that you enable SSH and then use a client like WinSCP to upload over SSH. There are no limits in this case.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to connect via SSH using WinSCP.
